A more natural-looking world with reimagined biomes and landscapes.

William Wythers' Overhauled Overworld reimagines vanilla Minecraft terrain as a more realistic, cohesive and atmospheric world, using custom sky, water, grass and vegetation colors alongside extensive world-generation changes, all without requiring modding. Biomes gain sub-variants and rare transition regions, with trees of varied shapes and sizes, highland cliffs and scree escarpments, and distinctive landscapes such as the alpine Meadow, basalt Stony Peaks, eucalyptus woodlands and baobab-decorated Savanna. Other examples include the hydrothermal Danakil Desert, tuff spires in Sparse Jungle, water terraces in Bamboo Jungle, and a flooded transition between Jungle and Mangrove Swamp. Diorite, granite and andesite are concentrated in particular biomes rather than appearing as blobs in stone cliffs: diorite is abundant in Flower Forest, granite in Sunflower Plains and Birch Forest, and andesite in Meadow and Cherry Grove. Surface lava lakes and springs are absent from overworld biomes except in the volcanic Stony Peaks and Windswept Hills. The pack is designed to work with other world-generation packs and mods, including Tectonic and Reterraforged.

Runs no function files.
Changes world generation: 56 biomes, decorations such as trees and ores and structures.
Adds 1 loot table, 37 tags and 681 more files in other folders.
Replaces 72 of vanilla Minecraft's world generation files, 25 loot tables, 9 other data files and 4 tags.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a data pack cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A data pack has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 2 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 1 point.
