    About

    Better Vannila Fishes overhauls Minecraft’s aquatic life, replacing vanilla cod, salmon, pufferfish, and tropical fish with a broader roster of realistic species and creatures. Its fish include Atlantic and Pacific cod, haddock, male and female salmon, Pacific salmon, three pufferfish types, six surgeonfish, six clownfish, and six cichlids; the cichlids inhabit rivers and swamps, while surgeonfish and clownfish add reef and tropical variety. Other additions include a three-color tiger shark that hunts fish and bleeding creatures, a spearfish that charges when threatened, and a feather star that hops along the ocean floor. Creatures use animated swimming and turning, and fish form flocks with leader-and-follower behavior; some species, including cod, salmon, and spearfish, also vary in size. The nautilus can be tamed with tropical fish, follows its keeper, retreats into its shell under threat, and grants nearby players a blessing that restores air, removes Mining Fatigue, and increases attack speed. Pufferfish drops can be crafted into a ranged weapon that targets nearby undead and guardians, while notable drops include a shark’s fin and feather star tentacles. Players can display catches with eight taxidermy specimen mounts, including a tiger shark display.
