Ambient insects to enliven your world.

Bugs Aplenty brings more visual and audible life to the Overworld with harmless ambient insects whose types and sounds vary by biome and depth. Its beetles come in 16 colors, each with plain, striped, and spotted patterns and a chance of being shiny; they inhabit locations from beaches and forests to upper and deep caves, with examples including flute-like Flutebeetles in jungles and Lush Caves, choral Songbeetles in snowy biomes, and ominous Wispbeetles in deep caves. Players can catch beetles in bottles with a copper net and play them as instruments, producing notes whose pitch depends on the direction they look; beetles also make distinct ambient sounds, and shiny variants have their own musical and ambient tones. Dragonflies dart through swamps, mangroves, and jungles, while decorative butterflies add color without a gameplay function; dragonfly wings can be brewed into Potions of Levitation. Termite nests occur in savannas and badlands, where termites seek out wooden blocks, consume them from the top down, and carry the wood back to their nests, enabling slow wood harvesting that can be collected with hoppers. Termite nests also turn nearby terracotta into Cobbled Terracotta, a textured building block available in 16 colors plus its default shade.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 18 blocks, 266 items, 135 entities, 1 recipe, 1 advancement and 102 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
