    Extra Special Network (ESN) is a shared multiplayer networking library for Extra Special Studio mods and other mods that opt in; it provides a common way to transport packets rather than adding gameplay of its own. Dependent mods use ESN channels to register packet codecs and handlers, send data between clients and servers, target an individual player, or fan it out to a group of players. ESN handles transport only: it does not provide lobbies, sessions, waves, airdrops, menus, HUDs, or gameplay rules, which remain the responsibility of other libraries or the mods using it.
