Genetic Bettas is an add-on for Genetic Animals that brings betta fish and a genetics-focused breeding system to Minecraft. Each fish inherits individual genes that influence traits such as coloration, fin type, size, temperament, and shape, letting players selectively breed for a wide range of realistic betta appearances. Bettas appear in swamps, jungle rivers, and similarly warm modded biomes; males and females can be bred with fish food made from raw fish and kelp, after which the male builds a bubble nest for the eggs. Eggs usually hatch after about one Minecraft day, and the hatching time can be changed in the configuration. Temperament is inherited and ranges from aggressive, through neutral, to passive, affecting how bettas respond to players and interact with one another; aggressive fish can be particularly difficult to house and breed together. Young bettas begin with dull colors and may look quite different from their adult form, especially marble and koi varieties; wandering traders may also offer fish resembling selectively bred types such as samurai, mustard gas, and koi. Craftable display tanks each hold one betta, providing a compact way to transport, sort, and show fish. The add-on also adds swamp plants: bottom-growing anubia, jungle valisneria, and spade-leaf sword, plus floating duckweed that spreads in stages and can be kept in check with shears. Its genetics aim to reflect real betta phenotypes, while acknowledging that some aspects remain uncertain or simplified.

Not checked yet
We have not checked its files for recent Minecraft versions yet.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We have not read its code yet
What it sends is not known yet.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and sounds yet.
AI in the game: not checked yet
We have not read its code for AI yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 2 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 3 points.
