Kaleidoscope Grilling

Kaleidoscope Grilling expands Kaleidoscope Cookery with a cooking loop that runs from growing and gathering ingredients through processing, oil pressing, grilling or cooking, and serving food while warm. It adds canola, onions, sweet potatoes and houttuynia, along with Sichuan pepper gathered from rare forest pepper trees, which can also obstruct and damage nearby creatures. Players can assemble fixed-recipe skewers by threading ingredients in order, or make player-signed Secret Mix Skewers from up to three ingredients; the latter take on colors and appearances from their ingredients and derive their food values and effects from what is threaded onto them. The fixed skewers include beef, pork belly, chicken skin, squid tentacles, fish, sweet potato sheets, potato slices, mushrooms, meatballs, slime, fried egg, lamb, golden, “Ordinary,” and gluten skewers, among others, each with its own recipe order, model, food values and effects. Grills hold up to three skewers and use a hands-on charcoal process: light the grill, add skewers, brush them with oil, flip them four times, season them and remove the cooked food; leaving them too long can produce a Mysterious Skewer or Dark Grilling. Seasoning bottles visibly show layered ingredients and make up to 16 uses of special seasoning from Sichuan pepper, onion powder and green chili powder, with optional additions that can grant effects such as Speed, Strength, longer-lasting effects, temporary extra health or protection from a fatal hit. The oil-pressing chain turns canola seeds into canola oil, while the added chili oil and magma chili oil keep food warm for longer; magma chili oil also has glowing fluid and flame-particle effects. Freshly cooked food gains Smoky Warmth, which cools over time and extends its positive effects; players can configure its saturation multiplier, and foods distinguish raw, cooked and warm states through tooltips and item outlines. The expansion also adds dishes such as dressed houttuynia, sugared tomato, pepper honey, houttuynia stir-fried pork, green pepper squid tentacles, braised chicken wings, potato beef stew and sweet potato rice porridge, integrated with Kaleidoscope Cookery’s cookware and food-processing systems. Skewer recipe books can record fixed or custom recipes for automatic assembly, while plates display up to five skewers and can dispense one or serve the most filling one. An Advanced Kitchen Rack provides five compartments for seasoning containers and four for tools, with quick selection and a way to return matching inventory items to the rack. Every skewer has a dedicated eating animation, progress bar and chewing sounds, with a 1.25-second checkpoint that determines whether releasing the use button consumes the food or cancels the action.
