    About

    Kaleidoscope Cookery expands Minecraft with a hands-on cooking and food-growing experience, built around preparing ingredients, cooking dishes, and serving them in a furnished kitchen. Its kitchen tools include a knife and cutting board for processing meat, a millstone for grinding ingredients such as wheat into flour, and heated cookware: a wok for stir-frying, a stockpot for simmering, and stackable steamers for steaming food. Cooking involves distinct steps: the wok needs oil and stirring before its contents are served, while the stockpot uses a liquid base and lid; both can produce failed or overcooked dishes when ingredients or timing go wrong. A separate teapot lets players brew teas over a heat source, pour servings into teacups, and drink them for effects, with examples including flower tea for regeneration and barley tea for vitality. The farm adds crops such as tomatoes, chilies, lettuce, and rice; rice grows in shallow water, and nearby aquatic life speeds its growth. Players can also make noodles and filled dough foods, harvest chili and mushroom skewers, and use furniture such as tables, chairs, and baskets to arrange and store kitchen items. Food has varied gameplay effects, including helping repel creepers, improving movement on snow and ice, and letting players spend hunger and saturation instead of health when hurt. The mod also supports configurable recipes for its wok, stockpot, and cutting board, including ingredient, cooking-time, and processing settings.
