No Increasing Repair Cost changes anvil repair and enchantment costs so they do not rise with an item’s prior repair or enchantment history; the cost stays at the level it would have been for an item that had not been modified before. This prevents items from becoming too expensive to work on and makes repairing them at an anvil a viable alternative to relying on Mending.
