    About

    Nyctography adds a substitution-cipher font to Minecraft so players can write in the Nyctography script across books, signs, chat, tooltips, and most other in-game text. The script renders letters as dots and lines arranged around the edges of a square, and the font automatically encodes numbers using consonant substitutions, with special markers for digits, letters, and dates. Players can also use a banner pattern to display characters from the font on banners; the pattern can be crafted or obtained as a rare wandering-trader trade, and its acquisition methods can be adjusted or disabled in configuration. The font can be applied to text components in commands and datapacks, while Bookshelf commands can style chat messages, item names, and text on signs or other nameable blocks.
