About
Outline N' Stuff is a client-side visual mod that makes enchanted gear easier to spot, outlining items in your hand, on the ground, in item frames, and when held by players or mobs. Its default Outline N' Stuff style traces the item’s real shape, including 3D models and custom-rendered items such as tridents, shields, banners, and held blocks; the geometry-based effect follows animations and is lightweight. A second style, Ring, provides a screen-space outline with adjustable glow, blur, corner treatment, and distance fade, while a master switch and options to skip world items or entity-held items let players limit its rendering cost. Players can tune outline width and intensity, choose a color or have each item inherit a glow from its dominant texture color, and use six rarity tiers from Common through Mythic, with per-item overrides and automatic support for modded gear. By default, the mod targets enchanted vanilla and modded items, while a one-click whitelist can add other items and a blacklist can remove an outline or force an item to use Ring style. Floating enchant runes cling to the held item’s shape and follow swings, camera movement, and animations; their size and density are adjustable, they can be disabled independently, and they can borrow particle sprites from Inventory Particles. Other feedback includes a red outline pulse when a held item reaches its last fifth of durability and a brief green flash with an arrow-like sound when the player’s projectile hits an entity. The mod also handles occlusion so outlines do not show through walls, bodies, or the player’s hand, and it is compatible with shader packs such as Iris and animation or item-rendering mods including Punchy, GeckoLib, AzureLib, and Hold My Items. A live, tabbed in-game panel provides the customization and item controls, with settings saved between sessions.
