Scarcity is a configurable mod for making resource use and survival more demanding, originally created for the Desolate Planet modpack. It lets pack makers tune hunger and saturation, exhaustion from activities such as moving, attacking, and taking damage, and fast or slow regeneration rates and their hunger thresholds; passive exhaustion drain can also be enabled. Water gathering can be restricted so filling bottles consumes the source block and yields four bottles, and an option can prevent kelp, seagrass, rice, or waterloggable blocks from turning flowing water into sources. Falling blocks can be made more hazardous: they have a chance, based on the landed-on block's hardness, to break partial blocks beneath them. For skyblock-style maps, the mod supplies seeds that do not spawn or drop naturally, including seeds for vanilla saplings such as oak, spruce, birch, jungle, acacia, dark oak, and cherry; carrots, potatoes, and sweet berries; cactus, sugar cane, and bamboo; and Farmer's Delight onions and Thermal rubberwood saplings. Other options include sunlight sensitivity, which can make mobs lose fire resistance and burn in daylight, and disabling zombie-villager curing. With Ex Deorum and Thermal installed, its Particulate Sieve processes Ex Deorum sieve recipes and can use a Heavy Agitator augment to sift compressed blocks; with Tinkers' Construct, it adds modular crushing hammers and crooks, including a Heavy Hammering modifier for compressed blocks.

No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used for its code
The author declares AI code on Modrinth.
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
