Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 144 graded mods, 122 are graded A or B, 19 C and 3 D to F. Its last update came out 4 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Desolate Planet is a quest-driven Minecraft modpack set on Talos, where the quest book provides guidance on progression and the tools available to players. Its resource loop centers on sieving blocks: stone-based materials can yield ore chunks and gems, while dirt-based, Nether, and End blocks provide other resources such as seeds and dimension-specific materials. The documented sifting results span metals including iron, copper, tin, zinc, silver, and uranium, as well as redstone, coal, quartz, lapis lazuli, diamonds, emeralds, and amethyst. Food is managed through a five-group nutrition system covering grains, proteins, vegetables, fruits, and sugars; the first four are needed for survival, with low levels causing debuffs and high levels providing benefits, while sugars can grant speed boosts at moderate levels but become harmful when excessive. Those nutrients affect distinct abilities: grains influence movement, mining, and attack speed, proteins affect combat damage, vegetables affect armor effectiveness, and fruits influence regeneration. The world includes a crash-landed ship and industrial or research sites such as a city, oil rig, foundry city, Matter-Energy Research Lab, and nuclear plant. The pack also adds plasteel building pieces in multiple colors, including stairs, slabs, bookshelves, and cabinets, plus spaceship chairs and custom sliding doors made from Ad Astra materials.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 17 Jun 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 18 May 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 144 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 141 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (17 Jun 2026) in the 141 mods we checked.
10 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
1 mod can use AI in the game.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and code history and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
