Subsurface expands cave exploration with 11 underground biomes in the Overworld and Nether, which can generate within vanilla cave biomes to create hybrids and are compatible with almost all other datapacks and mods. In the Overworld, Icicle Caves beneath snowy non-mountain biomes feature ceiling and floor icicles, ice patches, and frozen aquifers; Sand Caves beneath deserts have sand and sandstone patches, including floating sand that can collapse; and Swamp Caves beneath swamps and mangrove swamps mix mushrooms, vines, clay, mud, water, dripleafs, and lily-pad aquifers. Underground Forests bring grass, oak trees, mushrooms, and vines below oak-generating biomes, while Underground Taigas add spruce and mega spruce trees, ferns, sweet berries, pumpkins, and mossy cobblestone rocks beneath spruce-generating biomes. Foliage Caves beneath jungles feature jungle and mega jungle trees, bamboo, ferns, vines, and muddy aquifers, sometimes with skylights near the surface; Fungal Caves beneath mushroom islands have mycelium, large and small mushrooms, hanging mushroom roots, and wall mushrooms. Coral Caves occur only in warm-ocean aquifers and water caves, where coral, kelp, and seagrass grow, while Mesa Caves add red sand, red sandstone, colored terracotta, and terracotta plateaus beneath mesa biomes. In the Nether, Soul Canyons in Nether Wastes and Soul Sand Valleys contain soul sand, soul soil, nether wart, soul fire, fossils, giant nether warts, and weeping vines; Quartz Canyons in crimson and warped forests feature giant quartz crystals and quartz ore in surrounding netherrack.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 12 structures.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
