About
Swampier Swamps expands and reworks the swamp biome with denser vegetation, altered tree generation, swamp villages, dragonflies, mud puddles and decaying logs. Its frog additions include 13 new variants, whose appearance is tied to the biome where a tadpole grows up, plus 13 matching frog lights that bounce slightly like slime blocks. The mod adds big and small lily pads, a growth system that makes them renewable, and pads that sink after someone stands on them; it also introduces underwater cattails and swamp vines that can grow into water. Decaying kelp grows underwater in swamps or can be made by submerging kelp blocks, and can be harvested to craft fertile farmland that speeds crop growth. Decaying kelp also produces swamp gas, which forms green clouds over water and can be bottled; the gas harms players who walk through it and explodes when struck by a burning projectile. Bottled gas can be used to make gas lamps whose brightness responds to redstone input, or to fuel furnaces for longer. Frogs drop one or two frog legs, which replace rabbit paws in the Potion of Leaping recipe, while rabbit paws can instead be used to make Potions of Luck. A secret interaction turns a frog named “Swallow Me Waldo” into a killer frog that eats everything.
