Soulrend is a dark-fantasy action RPG modpack built around soulslike combat, quests, boss encounters, and character progression. Combat features over 100 distinctive movesets, impactful animations, and hundreds of weapons with their own mechanics, including blades, scythes, katanas, daggers, claymores, rapiers, and twinblades. Bosses and other enemies draw on fantasy creatures and major encounters, with examples including dragons, liches, and foes from Cataclysm and Mowzie’s mods; battle music can trigger during combat. The world is expanded with towns, medieval structures, dungeons, and dragon-filled adventures, alongside custom fantasy-themed textures and refreshed visuals for weapons, skill trees, and dragons. Quests provide chapter-based progression through paths such as the Samurai, Slayer, Colossus, and Dancing Blades, with additional chapters covering areas including the Nether and End. A detailed skill tree and leveling system supports multiple classes, with examples including Samurai, Mage, Lancer, and Blade Dancer; origins such as Orc, Yeti, Revenant, Shulk, and Dwarf also have distinct abilities. Enemy levels scale with player levels, while pets and summons scale with their owner, linking progression to the challenge of the world. Equipment and character builds develop through themed weapon and armor paths, with some powerful weapons tied to later quest chapters and stronger gems dropping from tougher bosses. The pack also includes an official multiplayer server accessible from its multiplayer menu.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 21 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 20 Oct 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 475 of its 485 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
8 mods send something about you
We read the code of 411 of its 417 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 19 of the 314 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
103 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
