About
TFC Better Stone Age is a TerraFirmaCraft addon that expands the early game with more ways to progress and craft before copper tools are available. Stone tools use a tiered binding system: unbound or weakly bound tools have lower durability, while stronger bindings provide better forging bonuses. Acheulean handaxes serve as multitool heads for making tools through binding-less recipes, and the addon also adds flint, bone, obsidian, and gemstone tools. Players can process sinew from mobs into a string substitute, knap bone for fishhooks used in bone fishing rods, and make arrows from knapped bone, flint, or stone arrowheads. Flint can be found underwater and used to make higher-quality stone tools, while gravel no longer drops flint. Ceramics gain dyeing options, including dyed jugs and pots, and fired ceramics can be recycled; a separate decorated-pot system is also included. Grains can be hammered into crushed grains for porridge or further processed into coarse flour for making dough less efficiently. The addon includes in-game documentation for its features.
