Survive a ruined world while defending yourself from deadly parasites.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 196 graded mods, 65 are graded A or B, 41 C and 90 D to F. Its last update came out 5 weeks ago, for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
Catalyst Parasites is a hardcore apocalypse survival modpack set in a world battered by falling Nether debris and threatened by parasites emerging from underground. Survival means finding food and water, crafting weapons and armor, and defending yourself against a growing, adaptive threat. More than 300 quests provide an overarching story, while exploration leads to challenging bosses that can help you prepare to face the parasites. The pack keeps technology minimal, with most tech reserved for the late game, and also features magic, dark arts, and rituals that let you turn forbidden powers against the greater threat. Dynamic seasons, temperature, custom music and sounds, and screen effects shape the atmosphere, alongside custom structures, items, events, and worlds.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 17 Sep 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 21 Feb 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 196 of its 202 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
5 mods send something about you
We read the code of 191 of its 198 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 4 of the 111 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
87 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
