A block-building world with the look and feel of retro consoles.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 199 graded mods, 110 are graded A or B, 30 C and 59 D to F. Its last update came out 2 months ago, for Minecraft 1.18.2. See the mods
MCSX Minecraft: PS1 Edition reimagines Minecraft as a fictional PlayStation-era release, pairing deliberately limited visibility, fog, warped graphics, 2D item models and billboards, and alpha-era visuals and sounds with a creepy atmosphere and an ARG-style horror story. The pack presents ten pregenerated worlds rather than a normal world-creation flow, framing exploration as a journey through a mysterious, unsettling version of Minecraft. Alongside its retro presentation, the pack adds practical building and crafting changes such as a functional fletching table, vertical slabs, missing block variants, synchronized double doors, bonemealable sugarcane, and corrected stair crafting yields. Its End changes include enderite ore and horse armor, more common End Cities, and a more involved Ender Dragon fight; other gameplay additions include shulker-box enchantments, a magma-walking enchantment, live fish from fishing, and the Deep Dark. Combat and progression are tuned toward a slower, more exploration-focused experience: mending and rocket boosting are removed, elytra are slower, armor is less effective, healing is slower, and chest loot is improved to reward exploration. The pack also introduces unusual threats, including phantoms that appear nightly, can carry players or mobs, and attack with projectiles, as well as some non-voted mobs such as the copper golem, barnacle, and mauler. Controller play is recommended, and the interface adds a quick-turn control, compass-based coordinates, a character display, and a screenshot gallery; riding vehicles switches the view to third person.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.18.2 · Forge, 26 Aug 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
22 files not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 26 Jul 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 201 of its 204 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
8 mods send something about you
We read the code of 194 of its 197 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 9 of the 133 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
64 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
