A lightweight modpack that helps vanilla gameplay run more smoothly.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 24 graded mods, 24 are graded A or B, 0 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 4 months ago, for Minecraft 26.2. See the mods
Sodium Extra is a lightweight, client-side modpack for vanilla Minecraft focused on improving performance while keeping gameplay and existing worlds intact, rather than adding new gameplay content. Its performance-focused core includes Sodium and Lithium, alongside FerriteCore, ImmediatelyFast, Entity Culling, More Culling, Bad Optimizations, and Concurrent Chunk Management Engine. For visual customization, it includes Iris Shaders, Entity Model Features, Entity Texture Features, OptiGUI, ScalableLux, and Sodium Shadowy Path Blocks. The pack also bundles Reese's Sodium Options, Mod Menu, Controlling, Language Reload, Fast IP Ping, and the configuration and compatibility components needed by its selected mods.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 26.2 · Fabric, 28 Jun 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 21 Jun 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 24 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
2 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 24 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (28 Jun 2026) in the 24 mods we checked.
1 mod shows AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
