A horror modpack filled with eerie creatures and unsettling encounters.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 48 graded mods, 28 are graded A or B, 11 C and 9 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
THE DWELLERS is a horror modpack built around encounters with hostile and supernatural entities, including the Cave Dweller, the NIGHTMARE, the Man from the Fog, and Herobrine. Its Insanity Shader distorts the world, with effects that change according to the time and your actions. Sanity loss makes the world more frightening, while a paranoia system introduces unpredictable events that blur what is real. Ambient audio varies with biome, time, weather, nearby blocks, and altitude; custom soundpacks and sound physics add environmental sounds, echoes, and reverb in enclosed spaces. The pack also includes multiplayer proximity chat and a first-person body model with more natural-looking hand movements.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.19.2 · Forge, 30 Jan 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 30 Jan 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 51 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
3 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 50 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (30 Jan 2024) in the 49 mods we checked.
1 mod shows AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
1 mod is not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
