About
Alternate Terrain Generation replaces the vanilla Overworld generator with a system intended to create more realistic biome transitions and a more varied, vertically dramatic landscape. It derives biomes from generated fields such as height, temperature and rainfall, producing smoother terrain and placing neighboring biomes in patterns that fit those conditions. Expect a mix of flatter land, islands, cliffs and hills alongside substantial elevation changes, including high plateaus and snow-capped mountains. Examples include hilly coastlines and islands, valleys between cliffs, snowy highlands with ice spikes, mountainous jungle, mesa and savanna plateaus, and expanded swamp regions.
