Bok's Banging Butterflies adds butterfly and moth species, mostly inspired by real insects alongside a few fantastical forms, and gives them distinct designs and behaviours such as differences in size, speed, lifespan, and preferred habitats or foods. Its central life cycle unfolds as butterflies lay eggs on leaves, eggs hatch into caterpillars, and caterpillars build chrysalises that eventually hatch into new butterflies; players can move caterpillars and replant eggs on other leaves. Catch butterflies with a net and release them again, or bottle butterflies and caterpillars in jars as living decorative displays that do not age, reproduce, or form chrysalises while contained. Butterflies sometimes pollinate flowers, producing buds that grow into full flowers, and can be bred by feeding them their favourite plants, which players can discover by studying the butterfly book. A butterfly microscope lets players examine species scrolls and add them to a Lepidopterist's Book, building a collection of information about the insects. Some moth cocoons yield silk for crafting string or paper, at the cost of the moth's life. Additional features include a food-filled butterfly feeder for automated breeding, butterfly-related trades from the Lepidopterist villager and Wandering Trader, and butterfly banners and origami for decoration. The mod also includes Peacemaker Butterflies, alien creatures that can be disabled in the configuration, as well as hidden content such as ancient poetry, strange moths, and butterfly-related structures.
Written from Modrinth , CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 35 blocks, 500 items, 282 entities, 1 structure, 433 recipes, 37 advancements, 8 loot tables and 6 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images, sounds and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 12 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 1 point.
