    About

    Cascades is a world-generation datapack that reshapes vanilla terrain with Beta-inspired cliffs, overhangs, and floating islands set within the cascading landscapes of modern terrain generation, creating striking landmarks to discover and build around. Expect larger continents and oceans, expansive lakes dotted with small islands, proper sand and gravel beaches, smoother land-to-water transitions, and shallower, navigable rivers that can continue underground, making boat travel easier. The original Cascades variant also adds four biomes: Seasonal Forest, with vivid green grass and oak trees; Autumnal Forest, with yellowish grass, oaks, birches, and giant mushrooms; Temperate Rainforest, with taiga and oak trees, ferns, and berry bushes; and a less dense Rainforest that replaces Sparse Jungle. Most vanilla biomes and the newer caves remain, while some biomes are removed and others receive adjustments, including Beta-like sky colors, less-dense jungles, and clay deposits at the bottoms of lukewarm oceans. A terrain-only variant, Cascades: Source, is also available for use with other world-generation datapacks that add biomes.
