    About

    Charcoal Pit brings Terrafirmacraft-inspired, more hands-on crafting and early ore processing to modded Minecraft, with systems designed to work alongside other mods. Its charcoal pit turns covered piles of logs into charcoal, while the coke oven processes coal blocks into longer-burning coal coke; both can yield creosote oil that can be collected with a funnel and used as fuel. A kiln fires clay into bricks, terracotta and ceramic vessels, and can also smelt some ores; the vessels provide nine-slot portable storage that keeps its contents when broken. For higher-tier ore processing, the bloomery uses a brick chimney, tuyere and bellows: players load ore, stoke the fire and work the finished bloom to recover its contents. The mod also reshapes early survival: a one-use fire starter helps players get fires going, campfires no longer need coal and produce ash, and tall grass can provide straw for kiln firing or thatch building material. Barrels hold certain fluids in portable form and can ferment ingredients in water into effect-giving alcoholic drinks; they are also used to curdle milk into cheese with vinegar. Food additions include maize, leeks, calamari, kebabs, omelettes, sushi and fruit such as cherries, chestnuts, bananas, coconuts and dragon fruit, with several ingredients combined into more nourishing meals. Special fruit-tree saplings grow into harvestable trees whose leaves progress through fruiting stages, while fallen or collected fruit allows repeated harvests; different trees offer distinct growth and yield characteristics.
