A survival modpack focused on realistic nature and everyday challenges.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 85 graded mods, 52 are graded A or B, 12 C and 21 D to F. Its last update came out 9 months ago, for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
Underdog is a survival-focused Minecraft modpack that reworks the game around realism and ecology, using an extensive quest book and guidebook to explain its mechanics and steer players through a redesigned, interconnected progression. Progression moves from early-game Pyrotech and Tinkers’ Construct through mid-game Immersive Engineering, Forestry, and Logistic Pipes to late-game Mekanism and Applied Energistics 2, with thousands of recipe changes connecting these systems. The world-generation overhaul combines biomes and terrain shaped by real-world influences with salt and fresh water, varied cave systems, groundwater caverns, and geology-inspired stone layers such as granite, basalt, marble, limestone, and sandstone. Survival is further shaped by seasonal weather, realistic block physics, nutrition, and custom difficulty changes.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 18 Jan 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 18 Jan 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 88 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
3 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 87 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 2 of the 87 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
