Moving builds carry colored light into the world around them.

Contraption Lights makes light travel with moving Create contraptions and Sable sub-levels, illuminating the surrounding world as builds drive, rotate, tilt, fly, or sail. It also carries light in the opposite direction: torches, glowstone, lava, glowing mobs, dropped items, and directed sources such as beacons or flashlights can illuminate a passing build. The lighting can pass between nearby builds too, including a spinning, lantern-lit propeller on a moving ship, which can light its deck, the terrain, and other structures while receiving light from them in turn. Light sources can be placed on Create carts, gantries, elevators, bearings, rotating shafts and cogs, as well as Sable ships, dynamic trees, and other physics-driven sub-levels. Glowing blocks inside Create copycats or FramedBlocks, and items displayed in placards, can provide light from the blocks or items they contain; Sable ragdolls can carry light from a held torch as well. A beacon carried by a Sable sub-level projects its beam along the sub-level’s up direction, making it a steerable searchlight. Coloured lighting is an optional setting: torches glow warm, soul lanterns blue, redstone torches red, and froglights take on their texture’s pastel hue, with overlapping colours blending and fading with distance. Colours can also be customized or added for blocks, entities, items, and other light sources through resource-pack data, while a Java API lets mods supply colours that depend on stored or attached data. The LAMB mode provides smooth, lightweight lighting and supports shaders and coloured light; an experimental VEIL mode can cast angled shadows from tilted sub-levels, while an optional server mode places real light blocks so players can see a moving build’s light without installing the mod on their clients. On Sable sub-levels, an occlusion option can keep light inside a fully sealed room and block outside light from entering.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 5 areas, as a library other mods build on: Rendering and graphicsChanges 8 game code files in this area: drawing mobs, items, particles and textures on screen., World renderingChanges 4 game code files in this area: drawing the terrain, sky, clouds and weather., Chunk loading and storageChanges 1 game code file in this area: how the game loads, tracks, saves and unloads chunks., Game coreChanges 1 game code file in this area: the main loop, lighting and other code the whole game uses. and Server and world logicChanges 1 game code file in this area: the world, commands, scoreboards, saved data and game rules..
A library packed inside it changes 2 more game code files: Contraption Lights Fixes.
Adds no new blocks, items or other content.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
