    About

    CoolCatLib is a library for mod developers who want to build Minecraft mods from common code that runs across Fabric, NeoForge and Forge; it provides shared setup rather than adding gameplay content on its own. Its foundation includes common-code events for servers, players, entities, blocks and clients, plus networking that derives payload codecs from record fields, cross-loader registries, menus, key mappings and typed data attachments for players, entities, block entities and item stacks. The configuration system supports client, common, server, world and startup settings, with TOML or JSON5 files, validation, hot reloading, syncing, presets and versioned migrations. Core also provides slot-based inventories and item transfer, brewing recipes, data components, item decorators for drawing details such as charges or badges over items, and platform utilities. Its visual tools include full-screen shader effects with fades and pulses, layered custom skies made from cubemaps, panoramas, sprites or gradients, and glowing world effects such as particles, beams, flashes, trails and rifts. Developers can create camera-path cutscenes with letterboxing, fades, subtitles and markers, while GUI tools provide draggable panels, scrolling, animated widgets and small 3D scene viewports; text and widgets can use gradients, rainbow colors and outlines.
