About
Creatures and Beasts adds friendly and hostile fantasy creatures across the Overworld, Nether, and End, with animals and encounters tied to their environments. Little grebes live by rivers and lakes, eat fish, and carry their young on their backs, while jungle and desert lizards enjoy music and can be cheered up with apple slices. In the Nether, cindershells graze on fungus and drop shell shards for crafting a lava-imbued sword; they can also be fitted with a cinder furnace that provides unlimited fuel. Tameable sporelings, found in both the Nether and Overworld, can remove curses from gear, and a sporeling backpack lets you pick up a tamed one. Swamp-dwelling lilytads disguise themselves as lilypads, while their axolotl-like minipads glow at night and provide flowers for crafting crowns. In snowy tundra, yetis protect their young when threatened; players can earn their trust with melon slices, and trusted babies grow into companions that defend them. Desert cactem tribes are led by elders who collect dropped totems and exchange them for a reward that may be valuable or useless. End whales roam the End’s void and can be tamed and ridden with chorus fruit and a saddle, though they follow only when the player holds food.
