An RPG adventure with quests, monsters, and a story to follow.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 281 graded mods, 146 are graded A or B, 53 C and 82 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.16.5. See the mods
Mineshafts & Monsters is an RPG modpack built around a compulsory questline, side quests, and an immersive storyline, with an in-game quest book that tracks player progression. Its world adds hundreds of structures, animals, monsters, and dragons, alongside new biomes and a complete cave overhaul. Mobs belong to different factions that can fight one another, and players build reputation with those factions. The pack customizes its mods around its progression, with some mechanics gated or disabled; the quest-book objective to kill a pillager and trade with villagers provides a starting point. In the normal version, Minecolonies and a fame system support kingdom building, while the Adventure version omits those features and uses skill-based item level requirements instead. A Lite version offers a more vanilla-like experience with lower memory use and better performance.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.16.5 · Forge, 9 Nov 2022). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
3 files not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 18 May 2022 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 282 of its 286 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
5 mods send something about you
We read the code of 277 of its 282 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (9 Nov 2022) in the 188 mods we checked.
15 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
94 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
