Depth: Hidden World expands Minecraft’s oceans into a pressure-filled underwater adventure, where an unknown force has buried part of the sea and left a route to a new dimension among ancient structures. Amber and platinum ores generate in ocean biomes, and the dimension itself is made up of water, volcanoes, and amber crystals. Explore deserted fishermen’s huts on beaches and ancient Guardian temples underground; temples contain a portal that can be activated with a Heart of the Sea. Below 20 blocks from the water’s surface, pressure damages the player, so surviving the depths calls for a diving suit and compressed-air supply filled at an air compressor beside an air block. The Netherite diving suit resists pressure but is heavy and slows vertical movement, while its Platinum variant is lighter and better suited to swimming; a submarine also provides underwater travel without being affected by bubble columns. Amber tools cook blocks as they are mined and inflict hunger on enemies, but mine slowly; Platinum tools sit between iron and diamond in strength and deal extra damage to aquatic creatures through Deep Impact. The dimension adds the Deeper, an aquatic creeper that clings to players and may explode when killed, and the Sunken, a pet crab that warns of nearby creepers and can carry items. In the rare Depth Dungeon, players can summon the neutral Amber Guardian with a Nether Star at the central altar; its three combat phases include pulling attackers toward it and launching crystal projectiles that can damage the durability of their held weapon. Defeating the Amber Guardian yields the Mirror of Profusion, which duplicates the item held in the other hand.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.17.1.
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 20 blocks, 33 items, 3 mobs, 1 vehicle, 1 projectile, 1 other entity, 1 biome, 1 dimension, 32 recipes and 1 loot table.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found in the parts we could check
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.17.1.
We checked its files without running them.
One of its files cannot be checked: its author does not let other sites download it from CurseForge.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We have not read its code yet
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.17.1.
The file checks found no code that connects to the internet.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
