About
Enchanting System Overhaul replaces much of the usual random enchanting with a discovery-based system that gives players more control over how they learn and apply enchantments. By default, players spend vanilla items rather than experience points to enchant: they first obtain enchanted books and right-click them to learn enchantments, then use learned enchantments on items or books. Enchantments can be added incrementally, upgraded at an enchanting table, and, when enabled, upgraded only after obtaining books with higher-level enchantments; anvil enchanting and combining are also supported. Configuration sets how many enchantments an item can hold, while optional curse amplification lets curses raise that limit in exchange for taking on curses. Enchantment recipes can be customized with datapacks, including their ingredients and level-specific costs, and material or item overrides can set enchantment and curse limits and curse-based increases.
