    About

    Faunify adds tameable animal companions, untameable wildlife, and ambient creatures to Minecraft, with distinct behaviors tied to their habitats. Its animal companions include weasels that dig for resources when an egg is nearby, chinchillas that sift naturally generated gravel for treasure and make dust that can slow and blind monsters, fennec foxes that bark to warn of nearby monsters, hedgehogs that curl up when struck and drop quills, and ringtail cats that provide a mining Haste buff, signal nearby ores, and tunnel through soft blocks. Other wildlife includes opossums that harvest sweet berries and play dead when badly hurt, mice that steal seeds from players, and ocean-dwelling leaf sheep that drop slime balls. The mod also adds a substantial insect collection, including silkworms that grow into silk moths, mantises that hunt other insects, beeflies that pollinate crops, and pillbugs that can affect nearby soil, crops, or composters. Bug Catchers let players capture insects, while Insect Habitats provide displayable homes that can be decorated with podzol, sticks, or leaves.
