    About

    Hardcore True Darkness makes nights, caves, shadows, and other unlit areas extremely dark, making torches and other light sources more important for navigating survival worlds. It uses a shader-resistant darkness pass and smoother transitions around caves, trees, shadows, and sudden changes in light to create a more consistent dark experience. The mod helps prevent fullbright and gamma-based visibility advantages, and is designed for hardcore survival, horror, realism, and multiplayer play. It supports Oculus shaderpacks, but blocks unsupported shader loaders such as OptiFine and Iris. For multiplayer, it must be installed on both the server and every connecting client.
