Improved Genetics adds a DNA system for living creatures, letting players extract and analyze genes, edit traits, clone animals, and breed offspring with inherited or varied characteristics. Genes can affect health, speed, drops, whether an animal can breed, and appearance; species-specific traits include horse jump strength, panda genes, creeper explosion strength, and the colors, markings, patterns, and sizes of different animals. Breeding can extend health and speed traits beyond their natural ranges, while editing can change an offspring’s species within its genus, such as producing a Mooshroom from Cowus DNA. The expanded creatures include eight sheep skin variants, eight fur patterns, dyeable colors, and horned sheep that become aggressive when attacked and ram nearby players or mobs. Other additions include Mooblooms that trail flowers and can be milked for flower-effect suspicious stew, Wooly Cows that can be sheared, and Volcows that produce lava and resist fire. Players can also find exotic chickens with crests and tails, Cluckshrooms that avoid sunlight and spread mushrooms, muddy pigs that rush into mud and dry or wash clean over time, and breedable parrots. Creature samples are collected with a knife, prepared on microscope slides, and processed under a microscope; DNA can then be extracted, analyzed, edited, injected into an empty cell, and grown into an offspring in a cloning machine. Genebot robots found deactivated in Lab Ruins can be activated with emeralds and tasked with connecting DNA Editor equipment or automating microscope cell extraction; their chat bubbles indicate what they need or are doing. The DNA Editor and Connection Blocks are found in Lab Ruins, while the mod’s powered machines and copper-wire networks use FE and work with other FE mods.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 2 areas: Rendering and graphicsChanges 9 game code files in this area: drawing mobs, items, particles and textures on screen. and Mobs and their behaviorChanges 5 game code files in this area: mobs, animals, villagers, projectiles and how they move and act..
Adds 18 blocks, 35 items, 5 mobs, 1 projectile, 1 structure, 27 recipes, 8 loot tables and 10 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used to make it
The author writes that AI was used.
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
