About
Infinite Abyss expands underground exploration with six new dimensions arranged in layers beneath the Overworld, leading through the Nether and into increasingly strange caverns. Each layer has a distinct environment: a crystal-filled cavern of unusual stone, a reddish magma region, mushroom and mycelium growth, a prismarine cavern with guardians and glowing vines, an icy realm of frozen creatures, and a shadowy expanse marked by glowing eyes. The layers are home to creatures such as Deeprock Golems, Mushroom Spiders, Puffballs, Guardian Knights, Ice Creepers, Wind Spirits, Shadow Eyes, and Eyeball Frogs, as well as three major bosses: the tentacled, toxic-slime-shooting Charya, the attacking Crystal Construct, and the explosive-skull-firing Frozen Wither. Progression centers on reaching deeper layers through portals, with craftable keys opening several routes and keys dropped by Guardian Knights and Wind Spirits required for access to the final layers. Players can summon bosses with special items, including a craftable Crystal Heart for the Crystal Construct and a Wither Artefact for the Frozen Wither; Charya is summoned with a bell found in dungeons on the fifth layer. An Enhancement Table lets players upgrade vanilla and mod gear with crystals and Charium, adding effects such as higher sword damage, stronger blast protection, improved pickaxe efficiency, and bow power. Survival in the deeper regions calls for preparation: depth resistance is needed for the last layers, while the sixth layer’s cold can be countered with suitable armor, potions, or a Warmth Talisman. The mod also adds machine-processing support for ores through Immersive Engineering, Create, and Mekanism.
