Fight your way through strange worlds to escape back to the surface.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 225 graded mods, 165 are graded A or B, 47 C and 13 D to F. Its last update came out 5 weeks ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Abyssal Ascent is a survival and progression modpack built around a vertical stack of eight dimensions, placing players in the Undergarden at the bottom and challenging them to fight their way back to the Overworld. The ascent crosses more than 50 underground biomes and distinct ecosystems, with dangerous mobs, bosses, and survival conditions along the way. Progression includes hundreds of custom crafting recipes to connect resources from different mods, alongside new ores, food, tools, weapons, and armor. Multiplayer supports proximity voice chat with sound physics intended to reflect distance and surroundings.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 22 Sep 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 28 Dec 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
9 mods send something about you
We read the code of 207 of its 208 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 11 of the 179 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
29 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
