    About

    Mahou Tsukai is a magic mod built around distinctive spells and their special effects, rather than a tiered progression of increasingly powerful spells; its spells are intended to remain useful in different situations, with mana as the main progression. Players create spells by drawing blood circles and combining them with powdered catalysts, then cast them through circles or portable spell cloth; the mod includes spells such as Alarm Boundary, Clairvoyance, Gandr, Geas, and Mystic Eyes of Insight. Its magic includes practical and combat effects, from invisible barriers that block projectiles and most entities while allowing the caster and contracted players to pass, to a bow that fires projected weapons and tools as ammunition. Mana can be increased through use, restored naturally or through sleep, stored in attuned gems, and supplied by Mana Circuits; leylines and leypoints also influence regeneration, attract Fae, and provide an elytra-flight boost along their paths. Some spells also change the world: Power Consolidation grows a mana-fed lake of Murky Water, where an enchanted sword can be transformed into Caliburn. The mod avoids ordinary world generation, so its content is not gated behind new terrain and can be added to existing worlds; a custom dimension is the stated exception. Extensive configuration lets players and server operators adjust gameplay costs and behavior as well as presentation, including spell effects, mana regeneration, sounds, particles, and rendering.
