    About

    Modern Networking is a packet networking library for developers building Minecraft mods and other integrations, providing a common API modeled on the packet system introduced in Minecraft 1.20.6. It supports multiple Minecraft versions and mod loaders, with libraries covering versions from 1.18 through the latest listed releases. Developers can define custom packets with codecs, register them in namespaced registries, attach client or server handlers, and send packets between server and client. The API also supports login and configuration networking phases, although availability of those phases varies between platform implementations. Its API is designed to be usable from both Kotlin and Java and can be adapted for Bukkit or environments outside Minecraft when the required backing implementations are supplied.
