About
Open Glider adds a hang glider for scenic, earlier-game flight that complements the Elytra’s faster, more agile role. Deploying it changes the item’s appearance and displays the glider on the player, with the model visible in first- and third-person views and to other players in multiplayer. Flight has fluid motion and requires steering against shifting wind: gusts vary with player speed, weather, altitude, and the glider’s durability, so storms and high altitudes can make staying on course harder. Players can trade some travel distance for speed, while continued use wears down the glider; it can be repaired with leather in an anvil. The late-game advanced hang glider, crafted using an Elytra, flies faster and is more wind-resistant and durable than the standard version. Wind, damage, distance, visual effects, and other flight details are configurable, including through an in-game options interface.
