TownCraft is a survival-focused modpack for building and expanding towns, beginning in a world of new biomes and exploration. Its colony progression starts with a colony ship or wagon and villagers who build a settlement, then advances toward an industrial city with planned roads, bridges, skyscrapers, and an economy that lets you sell produced resources for building materials. The pack supports detailed city-building with decorative options including Ceramics, Chisel, Chisels & Bits, Forestry woods, Futurepack, LandLust, MrCrayfish, Xtones, and platforms. As towns grow, they attract increasing numbers of raiders, adding a defensive challenge to settlement development. Industrial progression unlocks transport such as cars, trucks, SUVs, planes, and trains, letting you travel between towns and connect them with roads, freeways, and airports. The pack also features nuclear reactors and spaceships. More dangerous non-player characters may appear farther from world spawn, while hot and cold biomes are also riskier starting areas. A packaged official multiplayer server provides a way to join other players, in addition to the pack's focus on survival server play.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Fabric, 19 Aug 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
5 files not listed: no matching project found.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 426 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
11 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 410 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 33 of the 333 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
77 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
