Spears, Axes, Swords, Shields, and Other Tools (SASSOT) extends Minecraft’s melee combat and mining systems while aiming to retain the feel of vanilla gameplay. It adds wooden-to-netherite spears that can be thrown or used in melee, with extra reach and custom enchantments such as Whirlwind, which launches the wielder and damages nearby targets, and Groundshaking, which sends damaging tremors through nearby ground and walls. A rare Blazearm also functions as a spear-like weapon, setting targets on fire and gaining specialized effects from enchantments such as Flare. Shields gain a wood-to-netherite progression, with solid and framed crafting options that trade durability and resistance to disabling against material costs and recovery time. Shield enchantments add options to widen coverage, resist disabling, knock back attackers, deflect projectiles, cloak the user, or reflect some incoming magic damage through the treasure enchantment Echoing. Swords, axes, and tridents also receive combat changes, including material-scaled damage and speed, altered reach and sweeping attacks, and revised enchantment effects such as damaging wet targets with tridents’ Riptide. Mining progression adds copper tools and weapons, adjusts which tools are required for some blocks, and improves mining speeds; pickaxes can efficiently mine glasslike blocks, and fishing rods progress by material, reaching farther and pulling hooked entities harder at higher tiers. Combat encounters change as well: villagers can become leveling Swordsmen or Spearmen who guard at night, while Drowned, zombie variants, Pillagers, Piglins, and Wither Skeletons may spawn wielding weapons such as tridents, swords, spears, or, rarely, Blazearms.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 7 areas:
A library packed inside it changes 10 more game code files: Player Animator.
Adds:
Counted from the files of the mod. Content made only in its code is not counted.
Replaces 11 of vanilla Minecraft's structures, 9 enchantments, 5 item textures, 5 advancements, 3 mob and entity textures, 1 recipe and 1 loot table.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
