About
Steamcraft2 extends Minecraft with a post-apocalyptic, retro-futuristic take on steampunk, adding machinery, tools, armor, weapons, and Victorian-inspired items such as tea and smog. Its steam system centers on a boiler that turns coal and water into steam stored in canisters; steam then powers tools, drills, and the jetpack, while machines such as the bloomery smelt iron ore into steel and the intake supplies water to a boiler. The arsenal ranges from ray guns and shrinkrays to flintlock, machlock, and percussion-cap muskets and rifles, alongside steam drills and RF-powered drills. Equipment includes goggles that improve visibility in darkness, fog, underwater, and high-altitude flight, plus obsidian and etherium armor; pneumatic leg braces reduce fall damage, and roller skates increase movement speed. Flight has three tiers: brass wings use hunger and can glide, a steam-canister jetpack favors vertical flight, and the wingpack combines powered flight with gliding. Other distinctive additions include a pocket watch that displays real-world and in-game time, chiselable engraved blocks, and a lightning rod that captures lightning for energy storage. The mod also includes RF-compatible machinery and supports configuration options such as changing the ray gun's beam color.
