    About

    TerraFirmaThings is a miscellaneous, additive TerraFirmaCraft addon that brings together practical tools, traversal options, hunting and mining aids, and decorative items. Snow shoes let you move through snow without its usual movement penalty, while a sling offers an early projectile weapon using readily available pebbles and deals extra damage to predators such as bears, lions, and sabertooths. Metal bracing can reinforce slings, and players can make gold or platinum crowns set with exquisite gems, place gems in displays, and fill a display with gems of matching quality in different types. Bear traps immobilize creatures that step on them and can be buried with a shovel, while baited or unbaited snares can catch small animals such as rabbits and pheasants. A pig iron carrot can turn an adult male pig into Pigvil, a steel-tier anvil that can be led around in pig form and reverts to that form when broken. Quartzite whetstones sharpen TFC metal tools by hand, temporarily improving mining speed and attack damage at the cost of tool and whetstone durability; later honing steels and powered grindstones offer higher-capacity or more convenient sharpening. Rope javelins can be pulled back after throwing and can yank struck creatures toward the player, while hook javelins can grapple onto blocks for swinging, climbing, or controlled descents. The Prospector's Hammer identifies blocks that may cause cave-ins when mined, can reveal surrounding rock types, and becomes more informative as prospecting skill improves. Rope bundles create bridges across gaps that can be reshaped with a stick, and rope ladders extend downward for climbing or safely descending; both can be picked up again from an end.
