Under the Moon adds the Creep Forest, an Overworld biome found mostly near Old Growth Taiga, to make nighttime exploration feel different; it contains tall Sweptwood Trees, Moonflowers, and Puffball Shrooms. The forest’s abandoned cabins contain loot such as Moonstones, which are used to craft items including Moon Lamps that attract moths at night and Moonlight Receivers that provide redstone power according to the moon phase. Other finds include the Omega armor trim, the Goodnight World music disc, five paintings, and Cursed Acorns, which damage a mob and spread damage to nearby mobs through the Thorned effect; the acorns can also be brewed into a potion. Its nocturnal wildlife ranges from passive Night Crawlers, which can be befriended and attack nearby monsters with lasers, to Echobugs and their pack-hunting Pupset predators, whose Alpha can rally nearby members into battle. Peekers are passive, rideable creatures that can climb three blocks and, when killed, release a block-safe explosion that bonemeals the ground; their antlers can be made into Lunar Claws or an antidote for Poison and Wither. Lugbeetles forage for Puffball Shrooms in nests, while disturbing a nest can bring out its acid-spitting Queen and summoned soldiers; their drops support crafting a totem that summons soldiers and poison items, and Golden Nest Roots can turn regular or soldier Lugbeetles into queens. The forest also has the aggressive Quillback, which attacks with jaws and quills and drops materials for weapons and potions, and the Wendigo, a powerful undead creature summoned at a Bone Altar using a Cursed Artifact. Defeating the Wendigo yields remains for a Dread Knife, which grows stronger as its user kills creatures in quick succession, and a throwable Blood Charm that can produce a blood blast or trap a hit creature in a damaging ritual.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 51 blocks, 54 items, 9 mobs, 13 other entities, 1 biome, 1 structure, 5 enchantments, 54 recipes, 28 advancements, 1 loot table and 73 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its description, files, images and sounds and found none.
We have not read its changelogs yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
