Smarter wolves that stay safer and fight alongside you.
67.9 of the 71 points that apply = 96 out of 100. The points above are rounded to whole numbers.
Better Dogs overhauls vanilla wolves into safer, more expressive companions, giving each newly tamed wolf an Aggressive, Pacifist, or Normal personality with distinct behavior, stats, and colored patrol particles. Aggressive wolves scout ahead and pursue distant hostiles, Pacifists stay close and warn of nearby monsters, and Normal wolves follow at a balanced distance; in Guard Mode, each personality also follows its own patrol pattern, while Pacifist guards point out and growl at approaching threats. The survival AI steers wolves away from fatal falls, lava, fire, drowning, and magma, makes them flee swelling creepers, and sends burning wolves toward nearby water to put themselves out. Owners can anchor a wolf as a sentry, offer it for adoption by another player, or select it to ride boats, minecarts, horses, camels, donkeys, mules, skeleton horses, and supported modded seats, where it keeps a natural sitting pose. Wolves vary in size from 70% to 145%, with size affecting health and attack damage, and receive distinct sound variants influenced by their scale, genetics, and personality. Breeding can produce litters of one to four puppies with independently varied personality traits, mutations, and size; packmates build social affinity, while dogs with different food preferences may eagerly scavenge scraps or refuse them. Tamed packmates can play-fight and pounce without lethal harm, with nearby dogs watching; adults may calm overly boisterous companions with a disciplinary snap, and treats such as bones or meat help disciplined dogs recover sooner. More than 30 AI and social-behavior settings can be adjusted through the dedicated category in Minecraft’s Edit Game Rules screen.

No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used for its code and text
The author declares AI code and text on Modrinth.
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
