See farther across your world with distant views and shaders.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 16 graded mods, 16 are graded A or B, 0 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 4 months ago, for Minecraft 26.1.2. See the mods
Distantly Optimized is a modpack built around Distant Horizons and Iris, designed to let you see far beyond the normal render distance with shaderpacks that support distant terrain. It includes Tectonic for world generation using vanilla blocks, alongside utility mods, and ships with Distant Horizons-compatible shader options including Bliss and Photon. Expect expansive views across varied landscapes, including mountain ranges, valleys, open terrain, coasts, and coastal villages. The pack is intended to be lightweight and work on servers, and Distant Horizons quality, render distance, and shader settings can be adjusted to suit your system.
Written from Modrinth and the GitHub README . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 26.1.2 · NeoForge, 13 Jun 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked all 16 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
Its mods send nothing about you
We read the code of all 15 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 1 of the 14 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in it, or its author declared AI content.
1 mod is not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
