A tech modpack that makes other mods use GregTech recipes.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 142 graded mods, 55 are graded A or B, 25 C and 62 D to F. Its last update came out 7 months ago, for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
GregTech Expert 2 is a GregTech-centered modpack that reshapes other mods’ recipes so GregTech machines and processing are used wherever possible, while leaving roles GregTech does not cover, such as building, to other mods. Its progression spans the Stone Age and ore veins through GregTech tiers from ULV to UV/UHV and endgame, with quests covering milestones, AE2, Draconic Evolution, and GregTech-related addons such as GCYM, GTFO, and GTEC. The pack includes recipe compatibility scripts for GTMoreOreProcessing and Flux Networks, with work-in-progress support listed for Forestry, Ender IO Forestry, Gendustry, Thaumcraft, and Thaumic Energistics; these scripts adjust recipes rather than guarantee that the mods themselves run reliably. It also adds or alters specific recipes and materials, including Charged Certus Quartz Dust and Fluix Dust for AE2, and GregTech recipes for Ender IO equipment. The quest book is migrating from FTB Quests to Better Questing, and English quest translations are available as a separate project.
Written from CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 16 Mar 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 11 Feb 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 145 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of 142 of its 143 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI tool in the 71 mods we checked, and no AI content is declared for them on Modrinth.
72 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
