Survive an island filled with ghosts, monsters, and other horrors.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 7 graded mods, 4 are graded A or B, 3 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 2.5 years ago, for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
Horror Island is a horror-focused modpack that keeps the familiar Minecraft survival premise: find food, build shelter, and survive, whether you play on an island or a normally generated world. It adds threats including Scape and Run: Parasites, ghosts, phantoms, mutants, Weeping Angels, and undead creatures, with dangers that can make seemingly safe areas perilous, especially in the darkness. A Blood Moon brings a particularly dangerous night, when the pack advises taking shelter and hiding underground. Exploration can bring players to Roguelike Dungeons and Additional Structures, while mods such as Spartan Weaponry and Spartan Shields add optional equipment and tools. The pack aims to retain Minecraft's recognizable look and feel rather than radically changing it.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 11 May 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 17 Apr 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 7 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
Its mods send nothing about you
We read the code of all 6 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 1 of the 6 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in it, or its author declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its description and found none.
We have not read its changelogs, files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
