A ready-to-play modpack for exploring the Backrooms with friends.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 19 graded mods, 17 are graded A or B, 2 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 14 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
MC Backrooms Found Footage is an optimized, multiplayer-ready modpack built around the Minecraft Backrooms Found Footage mod, providing a stable base that players can customize with additional mods. The underlying mod sends players into the Backrooms after they suffocate in the Overworld, with static, a blackout, and a cutscene marking the transition; jumping is disabled there, and a flashlight is an important tool for navigating most levels. Exploration spans procedurally generated environments, including Level 0’s disorienting corridors with faded yellow wallpaper and stained carpets, Level 1’s foggy concrete parking garage, and Level 2’s seemingly endless industrial corridor. Further areas include the tiled, water-filled Poolrooms, where flashlights fail, and the Infinite Field, an open grassland with fog, power poles, and scattered concrete structures. The levels provide different navigation and survival challenges: stairways and other exits encourage exploration, while Level 1’s Smilers emerge during blackouts and a Skinwalker can imitate a player’s appearance, movements, and recorded speech. Crates in Levels 0 and 1 can contain Backshrooms and canned food, offering limited food supplies with a chance of causing nausea or poison. The pack includes performance and memory optimizations, Mod Menu for viewing and configuring mods, Simple Voice Chat for proximity communication, and hosting options through Essential Mod or e4mc. Players can adjust the Found Footage mod’s shader and camera settings through Mod Menu, and the pack is intended as a customizable base rather than a fixed collection of extra gameplay content.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Fabric, 28 Aug 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 30 Jul 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 21 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
2 mods send something about you
We read the code of 20 of its 21 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 1 of the 21 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in it, or its author declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
