    About

    Krypton is a Fabric mod that improves Minecraft performance by optimizing the networking stack, with its features geared mainly toward server use. It includes optimized Netty handlers and packet splitting, flush consolidation to reduce server CPU use and tick times, and networking micro-optimizations that lower memory use and packet-serialization overhead. Other optimizations cover packet compression, entity tracking in worlds with many entities, and sending chunk packets in a spiral pattern; packet compression can use Java APIs or, on supported Linux systems, a native libdeflate implementation. Krypton also offers optimized server-side packet encryption on supported Linux platforms, working directly with network buffers to avoid memory copies. It works on either the client or server, does not need to be installed on both ends, and aims to preserve compatibility with vanilla's wire protocol.
